Savage 111 trophy hunter and axis question.

I've owned a few savage rifles. I had a pre accutrigger 10FP and a post accutrigger 10FP, as well as a 10FCM (scout). All three were amazing rifles and shot incredibly.

Fast forward to the present and I've got some opportunity to go hunt in Deschutes county OR. I currently hunt with a slug gun in northern ca as its heavily wooded and hilly, ranges are short.

I've seen a lot of positive press on the axis rifles by savage, which I understand are a low grade rifle replacing the Stevens 200 series. Basically I've already decided I'll likely go with a .270, are the standard savage trophy hunters worth the extra $120 over the axis rifles?
Buying a safe and sane firework is like paying a hooker for a hug. I do not see the appeal in it.

I dont own a axis but am very happy with the 2 trophy hunters i have purchased. The Nikon scope has held up very well . The accutrigger takes some getting used to.Both the 243 & 30-06 with shoot under an inch with factory ammo

there is more inherent accuracy in the 10 over the axis, much more confidence if you need it, for most though, the axis is probably more accurate than the shooter
