    Remington 700 ADL

Hi everyone.. while shopping today at sportsman warehouse.. they had the 700 adl chamber in 7mm for $429 with glass.

that's cheaper than the american for almost $150 dollars..

my question is. has anyone owned one, if so. are they worth the money? any issues? cause i was stunned, I had not seen an 700 cheaper than $500..

However though, i wouldn't be getting it in 7mm, I would be getting it in .308

    thanks.

i got a rem 700 ADL in 308. got it for under 400 on clearance. replaced the stock and put on a heavy barrel. shot 20 rounds through my ADL with factory setup and worked perfectly fine.

My primary hunting rifle is a 15 year old .30-06 ADL. Bought it new, and payed about $100 more than what you're quoting, without glass. Basic black rifle, smooth action, nice trigger, iron sights, nice handling, easy to carry, and not punishing. Haven't done a thing to it. Stock is good enough for me and the rest of the rifle does what it's designed to do. It will do around 1.5" @100 yards with Remington 150gr core-loc, better with hand loads. It currently wears a Leopold vx2 3-9. This rifle is a keeper.

Go for it. IMHO, you'll never regret it

I bought an old adl in 222 remington. This one had the wood stock. Shoots great, no problems with it at all. It's a 700, you can always rebarrel or put another stock on like the other member did. 7mm is a good round.

Bought an ADL in 22-250 with the intent of just keeping the action and customizing everything else. My friend who is a lot wiser than me told me why not just shoot it first and see how you like it and in get practice before doing all the upgrades. Once I found out it shoots under nickle size groups I was happy enough with it to just shoot the barrel out and then do the customization after. Now with over 4,000 rounds shot through it is finally getting worn out. After I shoot my last batch of reloads it will get the upgrades. But you can't go wrong with an ADL.

Is that the 26" or 24" barrel?

If it's the ADL Varmint, then it's the 26" barrel. If it's the "normal" ADL, then it'll be the 24".

Either way, it's a fine rifle. Did you pick one up?
