Life Is Not About Waiting For The Storm To Pass - Its About Learning To Dance In The Rain.

Fewer people are killed with all rifles each year (323 in 2011) than with shotguns (356), hammers and clubs (496), and hands and feet (728).

The value will have a lot to do with originality, condition, condition, condition and caliber. 45-70 rifles seem to be much more desirable than other calibers as the 45-70 rifles are easier to feed. I have an 1886 in caliber 40-82 and it is not cheap to feed. Also, it is kind of a pain in the rear to reload the 40-82. Once you get them shooting, they are fun. Please note that the 40-82 is an "express" caliber and will not shoot bullets over 300 grains with accuracy. Google the Winchester Model 1886 and read what others think.

I have googled and googled and it seems like these guns have a historic meaning this one in particular seems to have been handed down from generation to generation and the last known owner had it in germany.
As for the values it seems to be all over the map I have seen them as high as 38k and as little as 8k with missing parts and beat up.
It would be awesome if someone had a wealth of knowledge on these guns and their value.

1sik33, read the first post in this thread:

Very few of all the ones I've dated there, have been correct. When you get the serial number, let me know and I can tell you if Cody can letter it.
