Prvi Partizan 182gr FMJ or the equivalent fodder when I'm restricted to "range safe" ammo. Norinco 61/56 marked milsurp when I am not - I've got thousands of rounds of the stuff left from the 90's when it was dirt cheap and I bought cases of it for my NDM-86 Dragunov."A vote is like a rifle; it's usefulness depends upon the character of the user." - Theodore RooseveltComment

Like Marquand, I use milsurp, where I'm allowed to do so, and Prvi Partizan, where no steel's allowed. If you reload, you can make relatively inexpensive cast or jacketed bullet rounds."San Francisco Liberal With A Gun"

Quick search came up with this deal. Get some.

lacquer will jam up your extraction if you let your buddies run through your cheap ammo like mental patients and over-heat your guns (I think that was prob before I sold them police by back).
So I prefer copper washed.
Big-5 sold some $1rd/20box Winchester that looked and fed and shot really good. Its what I'd take hunting.
Light ball better than Heavy ball, less kick.
Older stuff gives bigger flash.
NEVER had a SINGE dud from several different types of Commie surplus ammo.
If they ran the rest of their economy like their ammo plants we'd all be speaking Russian now.

A few years ago CDNN Sports had some Igman M84 ball "MFS 02" ammo, 420 rounds per 50 cal ammo can in 15 round boxes. Shoots good, it's non-corrosive, and non-magnetic. I got 2 cans ($115 each) and sold one to my favorite gun range.

147gr Russian surplus (188-Novosibirsk) shoots extremely well through all 6 of my Mosins. I get 1.5" or less groups from my late M39. I picked up a tin of Bulgarian, I havent tried it yet. Remember this stuff is corrosive, you HAVE to clean it immediately.
The Tula ammo has had mixed reviews, I have heard it is unevenly loaded.
PPU (prvi partisan) is excellent ammo in all calibers I shoot. 7.62x54R, 7.62x25, .303 Brit and 8MM Mauser. The brass is excellent for reloading and all calibers have been extremely accurate. Stout loads and burns clean. Shop online and you can find PPU for $13-$14 a box of 20.C&R nut.Comment
