    6.5x50 Jap Arisaka Type 38 carbine probably. Any proofmarks?

          I have that same barrel. Its a 98 barrel in 7x57 mauser. It was for a south american carbine. They sold really cheap a few years ago. some say it was imported to SA to service their guns from Europe. Some say it was a domestic replacement.
