Reloading is easy and fun for the 45/70. Pretty cheap to shoot after you get setup. If you can get a JM stamped 1895 Cowboy for less than $800 consider yourself lucky. They are excellently crafted firearms and you will get many years of enjoyment from it.

This is true! I also read 45/70 can break your shoulder, so I wouldn't buy it. Please pm me all the info on where to buy this gun, thanks

I love my 45/70, especially with black powder loads.

I reload; a brand new set of Hornady dies comes with it.

I'm a Savage 99 fan; this will be a departure. But it looks like a fun shooter

                  Buy it.

I was looking all over for one of those, but couldn't find one anywhere. I ended up getting a Winchester Model 1886 in 45/70 instead, but I had fallen in love with the look of the Marlin 1895 Cowboy. I really like the octagon barrel it has. Heck I still want one.

I would love to have an 1895CB, my 45-70 is an 1895SBL turned into a Wild West Guns Co-Pilot take down. My favorite rifle of all...

Lord, make me fast and accurate, let my aim be true and my hand faster than those who seek to destroy me, grant me victory over my foes and those that wish to do harm to me and mine, let not my last thought be - 'If I only had my gun'- and Lord if today is truly the day you call me home, let me die in a pile of warm brass,
                    Amen
