    I think it's done

I bought the rifle as a Remington SPS Varmint in 300WSM. Found a used B&C Medalist stock that was green and bedding for a 308 action. So I redid the bedding, made my own sling studs for they were missing off the stock. Textured the grip area and painted it black matte epoxy base. Also threaded the bolt handle and made my own extended bolt handle. Shot 1 MOA with factory Winchester 150 grain moly bullets. I'll be loading up some 175 grain Hornady bullets once I find some brass. Recoil a bit more than my PSS in 308.

Looks good OP. What distance are you looking to take it out to?

As of now I'll have to find an accurate 100 yard load with 175 grain hpbt before driving somewhere to stretch it out.

I'd give the 178/208 Amax, 190/200 Sierra MK, or a Berger 185/200 hybrid a try if your twist and mag box can handle the length. Going to a DBM/magazine system will allow you to seat bullets further out, a definite benefit for Rem's notoriously long chambers.

I was looking at the internal box mag and was wondering the same thing. I will experiment with Hornady 178 grn HPBT and see how far forward I can seat them to get near the lands. I have some IMR4350 and 4831 to play with. I hope my standard large rifle primers won't have problem igniting those powders in the WSM.

Best group shooting my Remny 700 in 300 WSM. Bullets used were Hornady 178 grain BTHP. Long loaded to get near the lands, so single loading only.

Thanks guys! I think this rifle can shoot better than .5 MOA. I was having a hard time with the factory non-adjustable trigger.
