    Help with Interarms Mark X

Good Morning, just wanted to see if any of the experts on here could tell me anything more about a gun I'm looking to buy. I can find a little information on the web but cannot find another similar to this one. Its an interarms Mark X 7mm rifle. It has a really nice stock with a few dings in it as you can see, not sure if the stock was original or if its a hand carved custom stock. As stated I cannot find a similar one on the web. Any comments would be greatly appreciated. I figure I can't go wrong at the price they are asking 400.00. But up until today I had never heard of Interarms. Thanks in advance! Sorry about the pic quality I must suck as a photographer! : )

I agree. Custom stock, and easily worth 400. An Interarms MkX in 30-06 is my deer rifle.

You don't see much of that anymore. I would be on here showing off my $400 7mm RemMag.

Beautiful rifle, fabulous stock, great chambering, and a mauser action. Can't go wrong.

Mine is 30+ yrs old, put my own stock on it back in the day when I had time to do such things, glass bedded and use it off/on for white tail and 'totes. Hogs have begun to show up on our property, so I see some pork in the future. Oh yeah... 243win. $400 with that unique stock, is a great deal IMHO. Mauser action and decent barrel. The bluing on mine still looks phenomenal.

If you visit GunBroker under "Rifles" and "Bolt" you'll see a fair number of these listed, anywhere from mid $300.00 on up. Interams imported these in the late 60s and 70s, maybe into the 80s IIRC. They also offered a "do it yourself kit" that required bluing of the barreled action and stock finishing. The rifles came mostly in basic calibers such as 270, 30.06 and 7 Rem Mag. I keep poking around for a very nice Mannlicher version.

The stock has "pressed in" checkering, take look at Winchester Model 100s for another version of the work.

I picked up a Whitworth/Interarms Mk-X in .375 H&H Magnum for 500 bucks several years back. Been a solid shooter. MOA capable with handloads! pushing 300gr SPBTs Love me that gun.

Here is mine built on an Interarms Mark X action made by Zastava in Yugoslavia, now Serbia. Remington offered the complete Zastava rifle for awhile as the Remington Model 798. The action is a commercial Mauser '98 pattern and is of high quality.

Mine was barreled by Tom Miller at R.C.B.S. in 1973 using a Shilen barrel chambered for the .375 Epstein Magnum. Stock was by C. P. Donnelly of Grants Pass Oregon. These actions were available as an action only a few years ago from Brownells and made into fine rifles. $400 is well spent on such a rifle.

I have one in 270 Win. I bought the barreled action for about $250 and the stock was a B&C Carbelite for a little over $100 back in '88. No pillars were ever installed although it is glass bedded at the barrel lug. Shoots great for a deer rifle. If I recall correctly the barreled actions were a little longer than complete rifles. The complete rifle in 270 - 7mm mag were 22" compared to 23.5" if bought as a barreled action only. My rifle will shoot 1moa with 130 grain loads and will shoot .75 MOA with the lighter 100-110 bullets. For a light hunting rifle the recoil is a little intense in the bench. As any Mauser action with the big claw extractor all rounds must be fed through the magazine.
