I found a Romanian PAR-1 online and I am extremely interested. Do any of you guys have any experience with the PAR-1? Just with google, Ive read they are more reliable than the PAR-3 but other than that, I couldn't find much

Romanian PAR-1

what is 'Typical Romanian AK quality'? I own or have spent a lot of time around Saigas, VEPRs (including a Krebs upgraded VEPR) and Yugo M92 paps but have never been around a Romanian AK.
Also, I think I would keep it pump action just for the novelty of it.Unless we keep the barbarian virtues, gaining the civilized ones will be of little avail. Oversentimentality, oversoftness, washiness, and mushiness are the great dangers of this age and of this people." Teddy Roosevelt

I have one. I love it. It is fun to shoot and a great conversation piece. When I got it, it had wood furniture. I bought the butt stock, scope mount and receiver cover without the rear sight. I could not find any replacement parts anywhere for it. The fore grip is plastic. I haven't needed any parts, I just wanted to get the fore grip and pin and front part of the stock. How much are they asking?Attached FilesLast edited by johnthomas; 09-30-2014, 2:43 AM.I pledge allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America, and to the Republic for which it stands, one Nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.Comment

It is not a normal pump action. It is designed so the action is opened using the pump action and closed using the recoil spring. In other words, let the forend go and let the action slam shut. They are a neat novelty gun. The rear sight sucks and the barrel is extra thin. But, they also allow the round to use all it's force to propel the bullet down range instead of using some of it's power to cycle the action like semi autos do.NRA Certified Pistol, Rifle, Shotgun and Metallic Cartridge Reloading Instructor

Not letting spring do it's job and trying to follow through the pump sequence like a shotgun doesn't work so well, lol. I wonder if anyone has ever clocked the speed of a pump rifle compared to a semi. Your post makes me believe you bought one of these, lol.It is not a normal pump action. I saved one from being converted to semi auto. I have enough semi auto AKs and wanted a PAR-1 to be different.NRA Certified Pistol, Rifle, Shotgun and Metallic Cartridge Reloading Instructor
