All of a sudden about 10 days ago there seemed to be a lot of new ones available. I had notifications set up on 5 different web sites and received news from all of them . Gallery of Guns initially showed 53 available and it is now down to 11. I think Marlin must just do 1 production run per year and this was it. I did order 1 from Bud's Guns, did the DROS today and pick it up 9/20. I really wanted to wait until next year, but I'm glad I pulled the trigger!

Marlin 1894 44 Magnum

The 1894 Marlin .44 is my go-to sleeper. Fun, accurate & push come to shove will drop most any 2 or 4 legged critters out there! Best $300 I've spent ~ Back when Marlin was a Marlin & Big 5 still had good deals....
My only advice is to go over it with a fine tooth comb, & if anything is to outawack send her back home to Remington. Got a lemon of a 1895 & Remington sent me a brand new perfect rifle for my trouble. Also, a lighter hammer spring makes all the difference in the world! And if your anything like me, ditch the cross bolt safety for the replacement screw "plug"

Congrats on your purchase, I remember pining for one of these when the Remington transition was happening and there wasn't one to be had around.
Sometimes I wish I would have got the .44 but I had a huge stock of 38 special brass and can't beat plinking with one of these sweet rifles .12cents a round.
Perhaps it would make a good pig gun with some hot .357s (If I could find any around here that is lol)?

1894
A very good year.
Ya, guess I'm not that old however I did Jail my Marlin 1894 today. I have been looking at them and just love the how they feel in the hand. What a sweet gun. I did have some question about the quality of them, but then I am a trusting soul and jumped in for one. They have them at Turners. Can't wait to try it out.

I have one in .44Mag and and another in .357Mag. Took them both out to the range last weekend and had a blast. 4-5" groups at 100yds on iron sights. For me, that ain't bad. 200 rounds later between the both of them and my shoulder is pretty unhappy with me, LOL. Definitely worth it, though."Well, looky here. If it ain't the fuzz".Comment

I'm still kicking myself for getting rid of my JM 1894 44mag.
Though I unloaded all but one of my 44mags, I should have kept the 1894 for my son."The democracy will cease to exist when you take away from those who are willing to work and give to those who would not."

That's a preddy stout gun . I like them but I wonder if the action will hold up to the 92?
Either way, the guns is just perdy. I don't like the side eject but I can live with that because of the nice wood................kudos OP
I'll trade you my 44 Rossi 92 carbine for yours
It takes a lot of balls to play golf the way I do.
Happiness is a warm gun.

Here It Is!
Here are pictures that I took Monday after I cleaned it and mounted the scope and then took it shooting today. It was Lever Action day at the range - see pictures. My Henry is a .357, and my other Marlin is a 30-30, 336 that I purchased 2 years ago. The .44 was very easy to sight in at 50 yards and then 100 yards. The trigger takes the most pull of the three but it breaks very cleanly. I would rate the build quality as good. The Henry build is great and I would say the 336 is a good+. The 336 is very accurate, the 357 seems to be very ammo specific and does well with American Eagle. I tried 2 other brands and they were very erratic. I've only tried Magtech in the .44 and it seems to shoot good. I don't reload so I'll try a few brands and settle on the best for the rifle. The 44 bullet sure puts a big hole in the target. I'll post some pictures next time I go to the Range. They are all fun to shoot but the 30-30 kicks the most so I usually only shoot 10 - 15 rounds when I take it out.
