    Timney for Rem 700

What does the newest model of the Timney #510 look like?
The picture on the web site has a locking nut on the front and rear for adjustments.
I ordered one on Ebay and received one that has a nut on the rear but has two hex screws on the front, returned that, no problem.

Ordered another from different vendor, got the same thing again. I'm in the process of returning that one.

In the meantime I ordered one from Midway, and just got it today. Same thing.

Am I wrong in thinking the most current 510 trigger has a nut on both the front and rear.
    This is frustrating.

The old style 510's came with a slave pin that retains the sear and sear spring.
The new ones come with a second dowel pin through the housing so that there is no slave pin needed anymore.
The extra dowel pin is directly above the hole where you can view the sear engagement.
You are probably returning the new style ones...

    Here is the new style:

      Thanks Randall,
The ones I've been receiving have the second dowel pin, but don't have the locking nut for the trigger weight adjustment.
Do you think this is the latest incarnation of this trigger?

So you made 3 different people / vendors take back perfectly good merchandise because you weren't sure if it was the latest revision?

Glad you didn't buy from me...

          Call timney and ask.
They have been switching to nylon inserts to hold adjustments instead of locknuts since the locknuts are harder to lock down after adjustment.

If you are finding the Timney sub-par, you may want to go with a 2-stage trigger. I'd be looking at Huber or X-treme.

When the manufacturers web site has a picture of their trigger and it has the locking nut on the front, with this quote

''The 510 comes with a safety that blocks the trigger, not the sear, which is a totally new design. No screws, drilling, or tapping required''.

Both Ebay ads and the Midway ad has pictures with the locking nut on the front.
When I received the Ebay triggers and they were totally different, I was sure they were not the current version. When I got the same from Midway, that's when I was not as sure and posted my question here.

I also emailed Timney before posting here and got this response today.

''The only difference is that we took off the nut and put in a nylock, and removed the retaining pin. The trigger feels and functions exactly the same.

I hope this answers your question.''

So forgive me as a consumer for wanting the same product that was advertised.
As a vendor it is your responsibility to accurately describe and portray the item being sold.
I don't feel it was done on purpose, but don't get mad at me.

Sadly, I still dont have the damn action that it attaches to. Only like 3 months late.

I think it's from your thread when we were talking about new style and old style Timney's before...
