    Remington 660

I know that i posted about this before but I couldn't resist doing it again. I have a Remington 660 that a friend sold to me for $100.00 It was chambered in .222 Remington. I had it rechambered to .223. It is one sweet shooting rifle with a gorgeous piece of wood on it. My worst problem with it is prying out of my son's hands so I can shoot it.

Curious why the rechamber? 222Rem is a nice cartridge. .223 is too, but just wondering.

If it was done back in the day it was a common thong to do, 223 ammo was basically free and 222 cost $$ besides you can load the 223 to mimic the 222 and be ahead of the game if you needed to. I have a 788 that was re-chambered as well.

.223 does everything a .222 does and it's about a billion times more popular.

Make sure your trigger has a star stamped on it. These guns are recalled and can fire when turning off the safety. I also have a 660 .222. It has not been fixed and it has fired when the safety was released. I don't shoot it. Just sits in the safe.
People who hug trees shouldn't live in wooden houses!
