The lower the number the less wear the barrel has. Prices for shooters are around $650 to $750 now days I think.

I collect Military Arms and enjoy shooting in local matches. I also collect older Lever Actions, especially those chambered in odd/old cartridges. If you have a nice old Winchester or Marlin in 25-20, 32-40, 38-55, 40-60, 45-70, etc etc, please PM me and we can work out a deal.

TE= throat erosion, MW = muzzle wear, the lower the better. For a shooter look for one with a bolted stock instead of a pinned one. For comfort, I prefer C stocks. If the stock is cracked behind the tang ( a common issue), you may have to replace or repair it.

For collector purposes you can check here to see if the barrel date matches the receiver. http://www.vishooter.net/m1903.html

Here is a bolted stock at the receiver.

A pinned stock has small brass dots on the stock where the bolts would be (the brass pin goes through the stock).

Oh, then you wouldn't be interested in this https://shop.dupagetrading.com/produ...c9277d49a179e9 I have one similar, mine doesn't have Mk1 receiver, but is a high number. Its rear sight flips up and has both notch & peep.

Both rifles have peep sights, although the A3 is probably easier to operate, but less adjustable.
