    CZ 527 Cleaning Rods

So I was hoping that some of you might shed some light in how you are cleaning your 527's. The reason why I ask is that after running my dewey down the bore for initial cleaning, I was rather upset to find that the bolt release was shaving the sides with each pass. End result, I will be looking for a new 30 cal rod.

I know that I could get a bore guide, however, that is a little after the fact. So....in the mean time, do you all prefer solid aluminum rods, carbon fiber, or dewey's

I use carbon fibre rob and a plastic bore guide made by the guy who makes "The Original Bobsled" for the 527. This combination works great.

If your not using a bore guide, you should start. Mike Lucas makes custom bore guides as does James Calhoon.

Pro-Shot and Ivy Rods are my favorite. They are popular among benchrest shooters.

Dewey rods work very well and you should always use a bore guide
A 30cal will reach out and touch them. A 50cal will kick their butt.

I like Tipton rods because they are solid. My Dewey rods are vinyls coated ss. Bolt releases and ejectors have damaged my Dewey rods. A bore guide is always a good advice, I wish I always followed good advice.
