On going story, Portugese assembled Featherweight that would not shoot straight. Sent in for warranty repair being replaced. It has been about a month since it arrived in Arnold ,Missouri.
Started to get a little frustrated, wanted to speak with customer service manager. Apparently assembley for the Model 70 has gone to Belgium.
The representative stated that they have a group of Belgian assembled rifles there under going inspection/proof firing. I was asked to be patient and bear with them.
The rifles are being heavily scruitanized for quality, fit and finish and accuracy. My featherweight is top priority, and will be one of the first ones out. Cannot wait to see!!!!!!. A2

unless something has changed recently that I am no aware of...Winchester rifles manufacturing and sales have been owned by FN for several years now,
FN bought US repeating arms company that licensed the use of the Winchester name. That name was recently dropped and returned to just Winchester, but FN is still the one making/selling the Winchester firearms.

FN (Herstal Group) has owned Winchester since 89/90 I believe. They also own Browning.

Winchester hasn't be "buy American" for a while now....again, unless something has changed recently I am not aware of.
