    Remington 700 recall

Has anybody sent their firearm back for recall work or has anyone just replaced the trigger themselves??? i am wondering if it is worth the wait for the factory to do it or if i should just throw a good aftermarket trigger in and if it fixes the issue?? any feedback is welcome thanks

Ditch the factory trigger, install a Timney and your done. No recall/shipping back anything and the issue goes away.

I sent mine back about three weeks ago. I was told about four to six weeks. Haven't heard a peep yet.

I asked them if I could just send in the trigger as i replaced it with a Jewell, added a varmint scope etc and would have to strip it back to original.
they said no they need the whole rifle.
so no. they can pound sand.

Shooting buddy sent his in about 4-5 weeks ago. Got his last week. Took longer for him to get the box sent to him.

Not a big fan of sending away a gun unless its way out of my or my gunsmith's pay grade. Refit a barrel? Fitted part failure? Send in. Trigger? Nope.

I have been waiting 2 weeks for my return box and just today got an email stating it shipped and turnaround time is about 12 weeks!, I just ordered a Timney trigger and will do it myself.

I picked up a recalled Sendero II the day after the recall announcement came out. I took mine apart and cleaned it. I could see where the problem could come about, but mine did not have the issue that was of concern. Put it back together, been shooting the crap out of it ever since.

CNBC and the family who was the main story is loving this recall. The thread posted above mentions lawsuit payouts ON TOP of the recall fee hit. Ouch!

For me, I won't be sending mine off until mine discharges on it's own, why you ask? 400 rounds and not a single issue, also my rifle is never pointed in a unsafe direction or at anything but the ground and or target. So if this thing ever goes off I'll handle it then.

Till then I'm not changing a thing and just wait out until I can grab a Timney or my Jewel.

I'm not going to send mine in. Never had an issue with the xmark on my 5r 300wm. I was searching our sale section and found a good deal on a jewel trigger.

It would be nice if we could just send in the trigger and have Rem send us a new one.. Or mail us owners a voucher for a new trigger.. Just a thought

Hoopty right ive been following this thing. They have alot of being buying timmys that might not because no one wants to send in there gun. Pay for the timmys same as 2 way mail and time for your smith to molest someones gun
