I few weeks ago I posted that I bought a left handed savage 110 what I thought was a trophy hunter XP. Turns out, I was wrong, it was not the XP. It's the older model 110GXP3, mine has the L designation because of it being left handed. The only thing I can find different is that I have a 4 round internal mag and on the new ones it's detachable. Mine also came with a simmons scope that I plan on changing out here soon. So, what are some good scopes to start hunting with that won't break the bank? Like something in the $100-150 range.

that awesome man i have the same exact rifle even with the wood stock just got it about a month ago it is a pretty bad *** rifle and with the nikon scope its a great deal.

It didn't come with a nikon, mine is the older model and it came with a Simmons.

Nice. I'm a southpaw. Mine is a year and a half old. Synthetic with the Nikon. Great package that comes bore sighted.

Anyhow yeah the three brands mentioned are worth a look. I like the Nikon on mine but I have a Vortex Red Dot and my buddy has one too as well as some Vortex scopes. Very nice and lifetime warranty. Prices are also nice. Definitely worth a look.

The Burris Full Field 2 comes to mind. It's a decent scope, but right at the top of your price range. Remember to also invest in some good scope rings.

You probably drop a little more coin on a Vortex diamondback or Nikon Buckmaster or if you can save a lil more money & get a Leupold. Cant go wrong with any of those... JMHO Dont cheat yourself on cheap glass.

Leupold has a 3X9X40 for $200 or less depending where you buy. That would be my choice for a good budget scope. I know you stated $150 but spend a bit more and get the Leupold. You will be glad you did for many years.
Use the rings that you have.
Get a Duplex reticle and sight it in 2.75" high at 100 yards and just hold on the animal for meat in the freezer.

SWFA fixed power is $309 shipped and will be way way better than pretty much anything you can get for less than about $600. Id stick with the Simmons you have til you are ready to spend the extra bit on decent glass. Not worth spending $100-150 to replace a $100-150 Simmons.

Nikon prostaff ( previous model), Buckmaster, Burris ff II, or my #1 choice is av $199 leupold vx-1 3x9. You dont need a $300 fixed power for hunting. That nice buck in my avvy was shot with a leupold.
