1 minute of angle changes the bullet's impact point by 1.047 inches at 100 yards. And the bullet's impact point would change by 2.094 inches at 200 yards (1.047 x 2) and change by 3.141 inches at 300 yards (1.047 x 3).

    Just simplify it.
    1 MOA at 100 yards is 1in.
    1 MOA at 1000 yards is 10in.
MOA has traditionally stood for "Minute of Arc" or called arcminute. The DMS (Degrees, Minutes, Seconds) system is largely antiquated outside of shooting and other specialized disciplines. "Minute of Angle" is the common acronym for shooting. Just an FYI, if you end up in a general math conversation, so you don't get funny looks.

There are 21,600 MOA in a circle, so a little quick division determines there are 3.4377 MOA per mil. At 100 yards, 3.4377 MOA equals 3.599 inches (3.4377 x 1.047). Rounded up, one mil equals 3.6 inches at 100 yards.

    Just simplify it.
1 mil at 100 yards equals 3.6 inches.
1 mil at 200 yards equals 7.2 inches and so on.
To simplify, forget all the preliminary rounding and use the Tangent function on your calculator or computer.

    Mil:
    Tan(1/1000)*3600" = 3.600"
    MOA:
    Tan(1/60*180/pi)*3600" = 1.047"

No need to confuse folks when we all have calculators these days. It's the folks that used sliderules that like DMS units.

I dial "typical windage" aka the most common windage i've been experiencing. Then either wait for that wind (could be waiting for a windage of zero), or Kentucky windage/hold over based on estimated wind differential.
At the longrange clinic last weekend, we were seeing a 3/4 mil left to 3/4 mil right fishtail.
It was changing that much from shot-to-shot.
NO way you can dial for that...

True. I only dial if I have a typical windage, if its going left of target then right of target .7-.8mil - I don't bother.
