    Marlin 3000

Is this a 30 30 lever action I should stay away from. Price $375 8/10 condition?

    I had one.
    It was a good rifle.
I only sold it when I picked up an older winchester 94 for $300.
I got $300 for the Marlin so it was a straight-across trade for the Winchester for me at the time...

      I have a Marlin 3000- great gun!

Basically a 336 with lower grade furniture. I think they all have their front sight dovetailed into the barrel rather than the ramp you see on lots of 336's, so keep that in mind if you ever upgrade the iron sights.

Had one while back. Bought it at a pawn shop. It's a less fancy 336 with a dovetailed front sight. Worked perfectly for me since I just scoped it. If you want a inexpensive Pre Remlin 30-30 this is a good choice. ANd you wont cry when you ding and scratch it like you would if it was a fancier 336 . I shot many a coyote with it using handloaded speer plinker soft points bullets for the M1 carbine.
