Mossberg MVP first time out

Took my new Mossberg MVP in .223 out today to sight in my $69.00 Centerpoint 4-16 scope. I will be hand loading here shortly 50gr Vmax and 55gr FMJBT for it. Today I just wanted to sight the scope close to center and shot 25 rounds of Factory 55 gr FMJBT Remington ammo. Took about 4 shots to zero the scope and then about 15 shots to get a good feel for the rifle and scope. Picture is of Last 3 shot group at 100yrds with scope set at 10X. Used sand bags as a front rest.

Overall I really like the gun. The bolt is not very smooth but the trigger is nice and crisp and the stock is very comfortable. tried the scope at 16X but found 10X to be the most comfortable power to look through.

Nice grouping, and nice rifle. As for the bolt, just keep shooting the rifle....it gets better with age

I was at Angeles yesterday shooting my new Mossberg MVP flex in 5.56 w/18.5 in. barrel. Couldn't believe I was wacking the swing targets at 300 yards! My friend was shooting at the Ram at 200 yards and couldn't tell if he was hitting it. I told him to shoot above the target and we saw the dirt kick above it... he was hitting alright. Whats funny is.. I was using a cheap Tasco 3-9x50 from Walmart! haha! $39 is what I paid for it!
