Steelwater In Murrieta/Temecula area has Mosin ammo for $9.99 (20 rnds) cheapest I found, in the area, in case anyone was looking.

.49-.50/round is not cheap for Mosin ammo. You get surplus for .24/round.

Yeah, turners is $26 and Faith armory and The shootist are $13. $.49 is not cheap but it is one of the cheapest I've found in the area so far

Take a look at J&G Sales in Shotgun News. $90 for 440 rounds of surplus. Almost makes me want to get a Mosin.

If that's the cost for brass, then that is a VERY good deal actually.

everybody that shoots my Mosin M-44 carbine wants to get one. I find it is just as accurate as my Mauser and costs 1/4 as much to shoot.I never get tired of shooting it. I do have other expensive guns so it is not because mosin is cheap.
