Am I being silly not being fully trusting when it comes to a coating company doing a scope vs a hefty rifle, action ect?
Was just looking at them. I've shot 800 yards with a ziess 3-9x40 and thought it was quite capable, def an option.
Thanks for all the ideas, guys.

Zeiss Conquest 6.5-20 comes in silver or black and variety of reticles. My favorite is the rapid z 1000Leave a comment:

^ I like the not completely silver look. And cant go wrong with nightforce. I'll have to keep an eye open for one of those on sale. A way to justify some of the price is it could be my new spotting scope! lol
$1750 on euro-optic right now, that's a lot - but a lot less than it used to be I suppose. Yet, still 2nd focal and 1/8moa clicks which at 1200 yards can be annoying.Last edited by CobraRed; 05-19-2014, 9:08 PM.Leave a comment:

you might be able to score a nightforce competition in the 2013 model at the top end of your budget; might be right in your wheelhouse if you find a demo or used one.
Explore precision optics trusted by the world's best hunters and tactical shooters. Nightforce riflescopes offer unmatched clarity, durability, and accuracy.
not 100% silver, but 90% of the way there
im thinking about this or the 2014 model and its really a matter of whether or not i want to dump the extra money. although, the 2014 model with their F class reticle, zero stop, etc is a nice-to-have...maybe not a necessity. decisions...decisions.Leave a comment:

Bruno Shooter Supply usually has a few silver 24 and 36 fixed power Leupolds for sale ask for Lester or Amy when calling.
For around $400 they will sell you a straight 36X Weaver as well.
Sightron has them as wellLeave a comment:

All of of the silver I see on their 20x line are VX-3's. I already have a VX-3 6.5-20x50, and have no complaints - but even my PST has lead me to want actual features.Leave a comment:

Silver scope options for long range work
Are there any real contenders in the $750-1400 range that come in silver? Not exactly excited about the idea of spray painting a $1000 scope.
20x magnification minimum
And yes it's just a stupid personal preference, I have many builds that are all tactical scoped out - something diff to go with a stainless action and barrel would be nice.Tags: None
