Looking for a .357 stainless lever gun.

So, I've been wanting a lever action to partner with my 686+ for over a decade but never had the dollars to do it.
I really wanted a Marlin in stainless but my research of the newer ones has brought back less than stellar reviews. I guess I shoulda bought a Marlin long ago?
What about the Rossi R92-56011? Any other suggestions for a stainless lever gun in a .357 flavor?

Sold it and now have a stainless Ruger 77/357 bolt gun.
I like this much better, check it out if your not 100% set on a lever gun.
It goes great with my S&W 686.

Rossi's are good guns

I've got the stainless carbine in .45 colt. Lightweight, accurate, soft recoiling. Just about perfect as companion gun for my Bisley Ruger.

I was thinking about getting a lever action pre Remington Marlin. Buddy of mine owns a Rossi 92. Compared to my sister's pre Rem Marlin 30-30, the Rossi looks and feels unimpressive when racking the lever. The Ruger 77/357 sounds really interesting to me if I can't find a pre Rem Marlin in .357. Now that I reload, another pistol round in a carbine or bolt action sounds like fun to me. By chance, can you change out the iron sites for some peep hole military type iron sites on the Ruger 77/357?

I've got a Rossi 92 to partner with my 686 and it's been a great gun so far. The action feels about the same as my 1968 winchester 94 and is devoid of any of the loading problems that some people have complained about.

It eats 38's and 357 both factory and reloads (make sure to crimp your reloads though... Ask me how I found that out) no problem.

EMF makes a nice one, I have their 1892 octo barrel in stainless. Nice gun, a real beaut. Look online, you probably won't find one local.

Yes you can.
NECG - New England Custom Gun Service, has peep sights for the 77/357.
They bolt on the integral scope mounts on the rifles receiver.
They are fully adjustable, and are made of steel. Very nicely made and solid.
They are not cheap, around $85.00 plus shipping.
I have them on my 77/357, along with a fiber optic front sight.

Current (2013 to 2014) Marlin are good to go. I got a 1895G last year, the fix and finish are great. Browning make them in blue steel only, Rossi and Chiappa make 1892 in stainless .
