Help removing bolt from Mosin Nagant

    Hello fellow enthusiasts,

I made a mistake and I'm kicking myself in the head for it. I purchased a 91/30 awhile back and cleaned it all up and re assembled it. I recently purchased an Archangel stock and after placing it on the new stock I unpleasantly discovered the trigger pin had fell out. Now I can't slide the bolt out as the trigger is just flails either all the way up or to the back with gravity. Is there anything I can do to get it off?

So far I've tried numerous times and in all different positions pulling the trigger as hard as I can and sliding the bolt out but no dice. I hope this mistake hasn't been made before but if it has hopefully someone knows how to fix this. Any help will be appreciated.

    Thank You.

You might be able to get a thin filler gauge between the bolt and receiver and slide it off..

How about just taking the stock off and putting the pin back in?

            This.

If you lost the trigger pin, as a temporary measure, you can use a hole punch that'll fit in the hole to at least remove the bolt.

Take it out of stock and pull down on trigger while pulling bolt out, trigger pins are notoriously loose fitting and side wobble is the culprit of bad/inconsistent pull weight and let off.

A good trigger job is a must on a Mosin, if in bay area PM me and I can fix that trigger.

Sorry for being a mosin newb, but if the action is bolted to the stock, bolt is in, and he cant remove the bolt, how is he supposed to pull off the stock? The rear action screw is covered by the bolt.

Best option if it works (you need to push the sear down). If that doesn't work, I think you're reduced to cutting your stock (or maybe just drilling a hole to reinsert trigger pin). Sorry.

Hey guys! Never going to believe this, I actually took a rubber mallet like A1rFreshener suggested and it plopped right off! I was so shocked it actually worked. First time in my life I took a hammer to something and it actually fixed my problem a hammer shouldn't fix.

To answer a few of the other questions though, I was unable to take it off the stock, the bolt blocks the mounting screw that attaches it to the stock. It's not on the original russian stock, it's on an Archangel.

Thanks you all for the suggestions and the offered on hands help! So glad I didn't have to cut the stock or anything to that effect.

                        yes Feeler gauge.. thanks..

I would inspect the shear and make sure it is not damaged.. could cause gun to fire unintensionally.. sp sorry

Whew...glad you got it free without too much trouble. Soviet gunsmithing does require a hammer from time to time
