    Yes.
That's why having a threaded barrel from the factory really does not matter.
If you have to time a brake to a barrel anyways, it's easy enough to thread the barrel too...

Barrel, sight and trigger work on most pistols and shotguns.
    Most work performed while-you-wait.

Doesn't matter in California at least. Silencers don't need timing.

      One day...

        Most QD mounts do though.
They align them a specific way to reduce the POI shift change from installed to not installed.

For direct-mount cans, you use a set of shims to find the orientation of the suppressor that is most consistent with the barrel when the can is not attached.
What you are actually doing is "indexing" the suppressor to the barrel, though you are not actually putting the "top" up...

Here are some pictures of a sample muzzle brake made by Nathan Wright. This is the same style as the ones made by Ross Schuler. Ross would only make 3-port brakes so Nathan is making 4 and 5-port brakes for about the same price as Ross' brakes. Best value brakes that work as advertised.

Best to get this, take both barreled action and brake to Randall after making an appointment, and have it installed and timed while you wait. Can't get much easier than that.

Over on snipershide, Nathan's brakes are being offered for $35 shipped.

Both Ross' and Nathan's brakes are great values. I went with a Ross brake and had Randall(ar-15barrels) time it, as well as install my badger bolt knob.

Just saw that, awesome price considering I paid $47 shipped from him in March.

Muzzle brakes are nice as the less recoil the better. That being said the rifle may seem much louder.
California's politicians and unionized government employees are a crime gang that makes the Mexican drug cartels look like a Girl Scout Troop in comparison.

They sell the brake with ports all around for that price; not something you'd want to shoot prone with...

The four port brakes similar to Schuler and Wright's brakes are $45 each and shipping is NOT included.

Radial ported brakes stir up more dirt in prone that side-only ported brakes.
Harrells gets $45 for side-ported brakes.
