    Mosin Nagant in SoCal ?

I want to pick one of these up but can find any in store. I would buy online but the transfer fees are killing the value. FYI Im out in the palm springs area.

Try looking at Big 5 if you have one near you, those are pretty good about usually having one in stock.

Nutjobs are the staple of CGN, at least in OT.

Bummer, you just missed a sale of them at Turners (dunno if you have any nearby). They pop up there every couple months. Big 5 is also another place to keep an eye on.

Big 5 keeps their price fair. Turners has them on sale this week I think though. I got a nice 1935 Tula 91/30 with a hex receiver from Ammo Bros that had great rifling and shot accurately. That was $179 I believe but worth it as it's pretty much what I was looking for.

Edit: The Turners sale ended yesterday for the Mosins. :/

Every Big 5 I've visited had at least 3 in stock, check them out.

The pricier one is a hex receiver.

The hex receiver makes no difference at all to the functionality of the rifle, it's more for collection value. If you're buying it for a shooter, don't worry about if it's hex or round. If you're collecting, buy the hex.

Last week, Turners had a sale for $129.99 for a good one, and $159.99 for a very good one. They're all $30 cheaper than regular price. Mosin at Turners are usually in much better condition than at Big 5. Last month I checked at Big 5 and it's $199 for a beat up rusted bore exterior. I'm sure the rifling is bad, too. Classicfirearms.com is having sales. The cheapest one is $109. Add shipping and FFL fee, it'll turn up a little more expensive than at Turners.

Seems like Big 5 is always having some in stock. You might check Fowlers Gun room in Orange, they always seem to have one or two when I am in there.
