Read this before you buy Rossi/Braztech

    Hey all,
This come from Ranch Dog over at Rossi Rifleman. Something you might want to consider before buying a gun from Braztech..

"Rossi has a restricted parts policy in place that will not allow you or your gunsmith to purchase the simplest of parts for your firearm. Any parts that you need can only be replaced by shipping your firearm back to Rossi. If the product is outside of the warranty period or has been disassembled inside the warranty period, it must be shipped back at your expense.

Until this policy is rescinded and parts are once again made available to customers, you should carefully consider the purchase of the Rossi with this fact in mind.

This warning is posted based on the issues reported in the topics and posts on this forum. Please remember that this forum provides a method for the owner-enthusiast to exchange information and is not associated in any way with RossiUSA/Braztech.

I bought a lever pivot pin for a 92 from them about 6-9 months ago with no issues. Actually I bought two.

Ever break a firing pin on a Ruger Mini 14/30? Same thing.
But really how often do things break on a 92? If it had issues I would be noticed as soon as you took it shooting the first time.
When I buy a new gun I take it shooting asap.
Run it hard and put it away wet.
had a CZ 75, Ruger blackhawk, a Taurus .45, Colt Goverment model and a Springfield 1911 and dont get me started on a Century FAL I had go back after the first range trip for issues they had. All were repaired wonderfully and quikly except the FAL. I wish I had a tank to run over it.

Mostly talking about the model 92\centerfire rifles. The OP from Rossi Rifleman is dated 04/05/14

I have two Rossi 92's, I really enjoy shooting em. The 24" octagon barrel 357 I have is by far my favorite gun to shoot. I just posted this to warn members about Braztechs new policy. I'd be a little worried about buying a used one that's not under warranty. Unless you can inspect and shoot it of course.

so let me get this straight.. if I dare disassemble my very own property.. it is no longer covered (or at least part of the shipping.) under some kind of weak new warranty and I have to pay for shipping and probably all the extra work that a lot of companies give away for free because they stand behind their quality products.

say no more I won't even touch them.
for crying out loud High Point (a brand everyone makes fun of because it's at the bottom of the $ barrel.) has a better warranty / guaranteed than that.

that's how to do it - if you want it get below the barrel ... Rossi /
Braztech rewrite your warranty & see if we notice.( too late we did and now your sales will go down, down where they belong.)

              remember it's never too late.
you can do a rewrite of your rewrite of your warranty to cover your products, be proud of what you made, it has worked in the past for many companies and I suggest you give it a try.

                Non factory parts?

They bought parts before the policy?

I broke the hammer spur on my Interarms Rossi 92 some time ago - my fault due to rough handling. Fitted a Winchester hammer to it and was back in business. It wasn't a drop in by any means, but it did work.

No worries, just a friendly note to fellow gun owners to keep those screws tight. Even the simplest things like screws and pins can't be bought. Some people are a little more handy then others.
