I recently picked up Impact Gun's alloy mag/trigger guard and finally made it to the range today.
I mainly bought it for the longer(and now lighter spring feel) mag release after shooting with gloves this winter. Construction is perfect and the piece is a work of art matching the receiver and barrel perfectly. No fitting is needed and it drops right in.
Alpha mags are a perfect interference fit. Almost too tight at first but wear in just right.
The stock Accurate mag fits better than the plastic with less slop but will need some filing on the rear tab for it to lock in.
The Ruger poly mags fit as nicely as the Alpha but with no break in time.
I only fired the rifle with the Alpha mag and noticed smoother feeding using Lake City ball right away. The bolt is well broken in and now with the way it feeds...butter.
While I had the rifle apart I installed a Spec Tech trigger. Installation was simple, with just a couple passes with a file. There's no side to side slop and I can adjust it until it's too light.
Done and on to the next project.
