VEPR PIONEER Question

Hello. I currently live in TX so I cant ask anybody at my LGS for how things work in CA (obviously).

I want to buy a VEPR Pioneer in 7.62x39. Sorry I dont know how to add pics or I'd throw up an example.

Is the VEPR Pioneer considered an assault weapon in CA? It doesn't have a pistol grip, or a thumbhole stock like some other VEPRs. It is just 'a regular old rifle' lol. Or am I wrong?

No...

Read the flow chart. Look at the VEPR Pioneer(btw, wrong forum section), and compare it to the flow chart starting from step 1. Do not start at any other place in the flow chart, do not skip steps in the flow chart. You will get a very clear answer if you follow it in order.

When you don't follow the flow chart in order, that's when things get weird(and it defeats the purpose of it being a flow chart).
