Both the Weatherby and Tikka are higher quality rifles than the Remington. Remington has been living on name alone for the last 10 years, and the recent ones I have looked at have been pi$$ poor in workmanship.

.243, even in a sporter weight it has heavier wall thickness barrel and with higher BC bullets the factory barrel is good out to 800-1000 yards.

Ideal for 200-500 meter silhouette competition and good enough to take down 200 lbs.

Any of the rifles mentioned above is a good choice and you would not be making a bad decision.

For me I like the Remington 700's I have 3 and I'm shopping for a .375 and will be looking to the 700 right out of the gate. Triggers are very subjective and with all of the aftermarkets I would concentrate on the platform and then worry about the trigger. I have a standard trigger in one gun, a Timmney, I had a smith work the other....
