    New Tikka coming soon

Dropped by Turners on the way home and they had a Tikka sitting on the shelf to finally get my hands on one. Felt good in the hands and just holds well. SO off to jail to replace my Big 5 special 111. I have wanted a Tikka for a while on the reviews and my love for all things Beretta.

I know they come with rings but are there any better rings to try or just scope it and shoot it?

What caliber? And do you mind if I ask how much they were offering it for?

.30-06, caliber to take any animal I will ever care to shoot. It was $549 for the blued. Not a big secret its in this weeks ad.

I recommend the Warne rings for the Tikka rifle - They are rather inexpensive, but are very strong.

A big improvement over the Tikka rings

I have 2 T-3 Lites and use the Tikka rings without any trouble. I have approx 2,000 rounds thru them. A 6.5X55 and a 7mm-08
A 30cal will reach out and touch them. A 50cal will kick their butt.

Thanks. I forgot they only stock the .308 or .30-06. I tried to get another caliber through them and it was like pulling teeth.

Oh man, that's a good price. If it included one chambered in 270 I'd be driving to turners right now.

I bought one in .30-06 and installed Leupold QR rings and bases on it. I love it so much I bought another one in .243. Both stainless with black synthetic stock. I was stacking holes at 100yds yesterday.

Stopped by Turners and looked at my new rifle. Its going to be nice. Took a bit of money I had tucked away for something else but I am going to be shooting this one for a while. I think I made a good choice. Got some Warne rings for it and am going to put my Minox scope on it.

I went with Divernhunter's recommendation on my earlier thread and went with the stock mounts. Literally picked up the rifle today and installed the scope just now after I got off work, not an expert but, it all feels pretty solid. cal is 7mm-08 btw

Easy enough install. Just need to double check and make sure the reticle is level (any tips would be appreciated) and hopefully sight it in this weekend.
