    Tikka T3 Lite Scope Mounts

I have finally, think I have decided on a T3 lite in 7MM 08 To supplement my Browning A bolt II in 7mm Rem mag as my primary CA hunting rifle. I am not getting any younger and I am looking for a sub 6.5 lbs rifle (minus scope and ammo) and this seems to fit the bill and my price range. I am heavily considering a leupold VX-2 3-9 40mm scope and am wondering what the consensus for the best low mount scope rings are out there right now. I take good care of my hunting rifles but that being said they do happen to get banged around a little bit ducking under tree branches and bushes. I typically hunt the eastern sierras if I draw a decent tag or for black bear and Vandenberg AFB for CA sized deer and pig if that helps at all. I would appreciate any advice you all could give me.

    Thank You, Geoff

I just ordered a Tikka T3 in .308. I'll likely get a DNZ low mount for the same scope mentioned.
Yes I took the pic, no I didn't go swimming!

I was just at BassPro this weekend and compared that VX-2 to the Nikon Monarch 3 and Vortex Viper HS. I'm going with the Vortex as well with DNZ rings and bases as previously stated.

+1 on the DNZ 1 piece mounts

Its a great option in you plan to install the scope and leave it alone.

Not a good mounting option if you plan to constantly remove/reinstall the optic.

Awesome looks like it will be DNZ then and I will check out the Vortex scope as well. Thank you for the help

I have that rifle/scope combo and another in 6.5X55.
I used the rings which came with the rifles and have had no problems with them. I have over 2000 rounds thru the rifles.
If you would like some good and bad load data, chrono results and accuracy I got with mine just let me know.
If you are hunting with the rifle do yourself a favor and get a Leupold for it. It will still be working when the others give up.

I have a VX-1 on my Tikka with stock rings but just got a VX-R 3-9x40mm with 30mm tube to install on it.

I ordered these so I can swap scopes:

I use the Warne 1" on mine. I have the Vortex Crossfire II 4-12x40 glass which I'm actually going to ship back to Vortex for repairs or replacement.

+1 for the Warne rings - very strong. I have Warne on my Tikka and they have never budged.
