    Spare MVP Bolt?

Mossberg doesn't sell separate bolts... and I'm not aware of any after-market... does anyone know if there is a source for spare bolt?

Reason I ask is... I want to add a bolt knob to mine (not for tacticool, but because it's a knuckle buster with scope)... I'm pretty confident in grinding it down - but since I've never done it, I want a backup in case I fubar it.

I know I can send it to Randall... and might do that... but it's quicker and more convenient to just do it myself... I just would like the insurance of a replacement if I goof.

There is a few guys on Ebay that will charge you 50-ish to do it for you...
only recommendation is that you can take off 1/4" off the very bottom and still be fine... it can get a bit long if you shave it down versus cutting and welding a threaded screw...

Might also want to look up Randle Raush he does it (the right way) for about 45-ish.

Mossberg will not sell a second bolt because of headspacing... which is what they told me...

      They are behind on production.

To many new models at once.

Bolts are headspaced to specific rifles and barrels so they won't sell you a bolt without having the rest of the gun there to check the fit of the new bolt.
You can always send the rifle to them without the bolt and tell then that you "lost" the bolt.
They will probably charge you about 1/3 to 1/2 the value of the gun for the replacement bolt.
