Searching for cheek pad / stock pack

    Hi,

I'm in San Francisco and need a cheek pad / stock pack within the next couple of days for an outing this weekend. Prefer TacOps, Triad, Blackhawk in that order, but anything high quality would be considered.

Does anyone here happen to know local stores that would have one of these in stock? Feel free to write here or PM me with details.

    Thanks!

I have a LaRue cheek pad. It's awesome, but doesn't double as a pack. Your best option if you can't find something in stock near you is order something decent from Amazon(two-day ship it or faster), then build it up using neoprene/mouse pad underneath if needed.

    Good luck with your search!

Triads small pouch is as good as they get.

Technically it's the eagle pack but triad bought them out. Make sure you get the zipper on the bottom rear of the back. If you have it on the top shooters have complained of the lanyard and zipper poking them in the cheek when shooting. Also have the option if bullet holder inside or out of the pouch now.

IMO don't get the large. Have you ever seen a girl with a gym bag for a purse.. Yea that's basically how big the large pack is.

Thanks guys, great suggestions. Any ideas on a local source?
I tried Amazon but couldn't find any of the ones mentioned.

Yea eagle packs are pretty hard to come by now since triad bought the rights or what ever happened. The only spot to pick them up at is direct from Triad I believe. Double check cause they have a lot of options make sure you get the right one you want.

Www.triadtactical.com I believe is the site

Triad's shipping cost is retarded. That's the only reason I went with LaRue.

As far as finding anything local, all you can do is call different stores. Check Walmart and Turner's for Blackhawk.

If you're in a pinch, just buy some pipe insulation from Home Depot and a roll of tan or OD duct tape from Walmart. It works surprisingly well.

I've got a couple Bradley's and think they're great. Non slip no drilling.

I made my own rest for maybe 8 bucks.

I had a rest/bag from Blackhawk (I think). I didn't like it. Didn't feel comfortable and the straps would loosen up after a while from being handled and carried.

My favorite affordable cheek riser is the Karsten Cheek Riser.

It's rock solid and never moves of slips.

I bundled a bunch of stuff into one order and it was about $20 to ship, and took almost 2 weeks to arrive.

I take that back, it was $13.60 to ship, don't want to slam them too hard on cost.

That's how much they want to ship just the stock pack. And they don't even send you a bottle opener, BBQ rub, bumper stickers, and copies of the Constitution! Took my business elsewhere on principle
Seriously, though, the LaRue cheek pad is very nice. I prefer the velcro dope card sleeve on the side over the ubiquitous zippered compartment and ammo loops.

                              +1.

Ran one of those for a while on my factory SPS T stock. Probably one of the best stock upgrades you can so on the cheap IMO. Only down side is the drilling for those who have better stocks. The SPS factory stock you don't lose much. But on my B&C I figured if invest in the pack.
