    Henry Big Boy fail

A few months ago I bought a Henry Big Boy in .44 Magnum, a purchase I had been anticipating for years. During its first time at the range, the magazine tube slid forward about an inch and a half.

I thought I'd ask here if anyone had any experience like this or ideas on how to rectify it. I'd really rather not have to send it to New York if I don't have to.

I have a Henry in 22mag and dealing with their service people is wonderful. I replaced a plastic front sight with a steel one and they were on it. Not many companies I have dealt with that are faster or more polite.

Give them a call first thing they will fix you up.

At rimfire central some shooters have problem with the inner magazine tube either missing or damaged Oring and so the tube is loose and moves (the parts diagram does not show an O ring but one is supposed to be there).

The outer magazine tube is held with a pin from moving, make sure there is a pin in the hole.

The above pertains to Henry .22's perhaps it also applies to the Big Boy (I only own the .22).

        Mitch,
I'd call Henry and let them take care of it. Your looking at a week or two with these people. The best CS in the business.

Or you could just trade me for my 44 mag Rossi 92 carbine
It takes a lot of balls to play golf the way I do.

There is a set screw that holds the mag tube to the receiver. It is either loose or has sheared off.

Blue loctite can fix the first part, Henry will send you another screw if that is the problem.
