    I voted .30-.06. Very versitile loads. Outperforms a .308 if you want to push it's limits. Much greater selection on hunting bullets as well. If you're serious about big game, then I'd look into something bigger, but for all around with hunting that's my choice. If no hunting involved, then I'd say the more common .308 due to it's availability.

    No matter what you choose, being proficient with it is more important.
