I am not a fan of BDC scopes for the reason you mentioned.

Too many loads in any one caliber to be worth a darn

What range will you be shooting?
A simple du plex reticle has taken more game than anyone could ever count.

Given that you are loading heavier bullets, I am guessing most of your shots will be at 100 yards or less with some out to 200-300

Given the variations in bullet weight from 100-230 grains, what about a mil dot reticle? Pick up a used nikon with mil dot and if you don't like it you can resell it and more or less break even.
Rule 1- ALL GUNS ARE ALWAYS LOADED

Rule 2 -NEVER LET THE MUZZLE COVER ANYTHING YOU ARE NOT PREPARED TO DESTROY (including your hands and legs)

Rule 3 -KEEP YOUR FINGER OFF THE TRIGGER UNTIL YOUR SIGHTS ARE ON THE TARGET

Rule 4 -BE SURE OF YOUR TARGET AND WHAT IS BEYOND IT

I want to use this rifle as a platform for the Lee 230gr cast bullets since it is such a hassle finding bullets these days. Most of my shooting has been 25 yards at Field Time in Stanton with the occasional trip to Angeles. Since the sub-sonics run well on small charges of powder it should be economical to shoot if I cast my own.

I felt exactly as you do when I picked up my handi rifle. I just stuck a red dot on top and I couldn't be happier. Keeps the rifle nice and light and maneuverable, good enough for 100yds, and the price was right.

The P300 can be used with any bullet if you use it with their SpotOn software. You can also get custom turrets if you want one specific load.

The 10 day wait is up this coming Friday on my new 300 AAC BLK Handi. To get started I ordered Lee dies, Hornady brass, along with Hornady 110gr SP, Nosler 125gr ballistic tip boat tails, Sierra 125gr FP-HP & 100 SP 30 Carbine bullets. I have a couple pound of H100 on the shelf and that looks to be one of the best powders for the lighter bullets. I’m looking for a Redding 300 AAC BLK trim die to reform 223 brass. For optics I found an iTAC red dot. Hope to get out to the range tis weekend and try it out.

To get started I ordered Lee dies, Hornady brass, along with Hornady 110gr spire points, Nosler 125gr ballistic tip boat tails, Sierra 125gr flat point hollow points & 110 soft point 30 Carbine bullets, a Lee 230gr 300 BLK mold is backordered too. I have a couple pounds of H110 on the shelf that looks to be one of better powders for the bullets 125gr or linhter. I’m looking for a Redding 300 AAC BLK trim die to reform 223 brass at some point. For optics I found an iTAC red dot, it looks to be the same as what SIG was putting on thier rifles. Hope to get out to the range tis weekend and try everything out.

I would punch that out to 7.62x39 and you could go subsonic, or all the way out to 600 yards with high BC.308 bullets

The 300blk handi rifle is a fun little gun. Im running 225gr Hornady HPBTs with 9gr of H110 for my sub load. 9.3gr grouped a little better but would have the occasional crack.
