One thing is for sure, I would wait to get it if I were on the fence. Accutrigger alone will be worth the price. The trigger on the old model sux and Savage knows it. It has been one of their worst complaints. As for the rifle, it would be an OK hunting rifle and that is about it. Want something better, buy a Tikka T3 lite, Remington 700, Browning Xbolt. Personally I wish we would go back to buying quality guns, though I know these entry level guns is where the market is these days, and they are just fine for hunting in Kalifornistan. You should be able to get 2" moa accuracy at 100 yards which is more than enough to bag a buck once every five years in Cali.

My Savage Edge (Axis) will shoot 1'' group at 100 yards with surplus DAG ammo.

Do your self a favor and step up the next level of Savage, you'll be glad you did.

I paid $330 for my Savage Axis in .223 with scope included. I plan on adding a Timmey trigger for $109.
