Price check - Remington 700 PSS

I've been in the market for a Remington 700 for a quite a while and just had one come up on the radar via a friend of mine.

Its a 700 PSS in .308 with 26" heavy contour barrel, HS Precision stock,4 round detachable magazine. And its never been fired. The guy selling it, bought it, put it in his safe and forgot about it.

He wants $650 for it. Worth it, or should keep on looking?

Definitely worth it, worth it even more depending on what type of detach mag set up he has on it. But even if it's a cheap "Kwik Klip" brand, or even if he's mistaken and it's a plain old 700 bottom metal it's an excellent price.

A few accuracy enhancement are needed.
Scrape all overmold off aluminum bedding block"V" area.

Skim bed rear tang.

Radius edges of recoil lug and bed lug recess so action does not twist/torque in stock.

Disassemble firing pin assy. and polish/flute pin if you can/have access to a milling machine. Reassemble with light oil, moly shroud threads and cocking cam surfaces.

Ramp/match front of magazine box (radius cutout) to receiver feed ramp.

Polish lower/underside of cartridge guide ribs of receiver.
