    300 AAC Blackout Handi Rifle

Has anybody picked up one of the 300 Blackout AAC/Handi Rifles? These really look like a lot of fun.

    Cheers,

I have a Remington 700 SPS with 16" braked barrel. The Blackout is a neat little cartridge, sort of a "30 caliber plinker" for 100 yds or so. I'm finding reloading for it to be a bit of a challenge, the round seems to have some pretty distinct likes & dislikes. One challenge is that the 110 and 125 grain bullets I tend to use have a very different POI from the 147 and above stuff. I like it, but am not quite certain what great use it has in a single or bolt rifle.

A bit of a wander but I've been on the fence about wasting the money on a .500 SW handi-rifle. It seems like the .45-70 would be the better big bore single shot rifle round but that half inch bore keeps calling to me from the rack at my local shop!

Single action and bolt have been used by wardens and game managers taking out overpopulated deer and feral hogs in urban settings when it was the wildcat called 300-.221 fireball or 300Whisper for years.

I've got one. Really like it. Threw a cheap little red dot on it and within 3 shots it was zero'd. For the price it's tough to beat.
Ammo is a pain, but keep your eyes open and you can do okay. I've been running the Ozark reloads without an issue.

I was looking at getting a 16" .300BLK barrel for my TC Encore until I realized that for about the same price I could get the Handi-Rifle instead

I'm probably going to go with the Handi-Rifle. Haven't purchased it yet, but it's on the short list along with an AAC 16" upper group for an as-yet-to-be-built new AR.

they made one in 45 long colt... it could be chambered out to 460 SW... and then also shoot casull... that's a versatile handi gun.

I have the Handi in 45 Colt already; it has a case hardened finish on the receiver, hand checkered walnut furniture, and Marble sights topping off the package! A Handi in 300 AAC Blackout would make an interesting companion. I already cast my own 45 bullets and have read good things about the Lee 300 BO 230gr SP-BT-TL. I figure I could reload the 300 AAC BO for under 20 cents a round if I cast my own bullets for it!

It's a reloadable 22 rimfire. except ammo is easier to find
