I'm not quite sure where to put this question, it's as much a "CA legal" question as anything else.
I've just had another rifle barrel made for my T/C Encore rifle. The barrel is a 27" long 1" diameter bull barrel in 340 Weatherby - and yes it will have a brake attached. It occurs to me I'd rather use this fairly substantial cartridge on a dedicated frame rather than on the same rifle frame I use for my other 30 or so barrels. In the past I've bought a rifle frame with shoulder stock, but no barrel. Given the new long gun law will I be required to have a barrel attached to this thing to do DROS?
I realize there are ways to get it done if needed, I can ship off my 30 Carbine barrel to the seller before he sends in the frame. I'm just curious regarding "letter of the law".
