Gun is Finished

Got the last few wants for my 700 for Christmas. My wife got me a Badger Ordnance bolt knob and a DBM mam extension. Then I did a pillar and bed job on her myself. Over all I'm really happy with how she's turned out.

I got this stock on a blow out deal from Boyds. No choice of color, so I wasn't super excited about the color. Once I got it and put it together, I fell in love with the combo.

Also if anyone wants to hold more rounds in their 700 with out dropping $150 on a mag system, I highly recommend the mag extension. Its only $20 or so from Midway.

Your pillar job looks perfect. Only the slightest amount of metal at the 12 and 6 o'clock positions.

Maybe chamfer the edges of the lug recess. If for some reason it doesn't shoot, try removing the pad in front of the lug to truly float the entire barrel.

Wow. I'm really digging the wood thumbhole stock. I'm so used to seeing tacticool aluminum/composite frames on these rigs. That's for the refresher!

I wasn't looking at a HS stock but went with the Boyd's and I'm glad I did. I'll be picking one up for my wife's Axis as well.
