    Remington model 40XB questions

I hope that I'm posting this in the correct place. I have a Remington 40XB-KS. It's chambered for the 308 (7.62 x 51 Nato), bolt action It was built at the Remington Custom Shop back in the mid 90's. It has a black Kevlar Stock as well as a stainless heavy barrel, both from the custom shop. It's scoped with a Leopold BR-36X. All components in excellent condition, almost brand new in box condition, unsure about amount of rounds fired through it though, say, less than 200 for estimate's sake. It in NOT a BR, bench rest nor tactical stock. No hard case either.

Question 1: What dies the "B" stand for in "40XB"? Is it for bolt?

Question 2: Sort of a general question, without looking at it directly. What would be a high and low dollar value for this?

    Many thanks!

I think it's a 40X and the B stands for heavy barrel as you could get sporter weight barrels back in the day. The KS is for the Kevlar stock, I think. I once ordered a 40XB-R that meant it was a repeater. Is yours a single shot?
I have no idea as to value. As a target shooter having owned two 40Xs, I would want to see the factory test target, or shoot the gun myself before I would make an offer. Some 40Xs are great shooters and some are not. Does it have a stripper clip guide? Is it a SS receiver or blue?
I might be a little low but somewhere around 800 bucks for just the rifle would be my guess. If I had it in my hands and it was a really good shooter, I would go more.
