    Rossi 92 at Big 5

$479.99 What do you think? Fair deal/decent .44 mag lever? With only one more day left in 2013, I was wondering if it was prudent.......
    Thanks

I've got one in .357 and love it. I spent an afternoon doing an action job and now it's smooth as silk. I used this for 'how to'.

    This rear sight.

    This front sight.

Those sight links are for a round barrel. You will need to order the hex versions if you get a hex barrel.

You will have a new favorite rifle when you get done.

If you're buying at Big 5, be sure to use the coupon that posted a couple days ago- 20% off reg price, 10% off sale priced firearms. No exclusions listed on coupon. Sorry, can't link it as I'm on my phone.

Is it ss or blued? I've wanted a ss lever for a while now.

Great heads up Jeffy. You'll save me $47.99 if I can get myself down there today. They don't do firearm sales after 8:00 PM.

I have both the .357 and the .44 and am happy with both.

Had a stainless, 24" octagonal barrel (.357) a long time ago. Traded it away for the fancy-du-jour, and regretted it until I replaced it with another .357, this time the blued, 16" carbine model.

Such a lovely rifle - as a bonus, my current one feeds a lot smoother than the stainless one did. Still, I'll try the stuff chroprzrul suggested.

I have a Rossi 92 in .357. I like it a lot. The quality is decent, and it's accurate to about 75 yards. Probably more, with a better shooter. I heard people complaining about either feeding issues with .38 special, or .357 mag, but I didn't have either. Moreover, it fed just fine with a mix of .38 and .357 (I just had to try that after reading about those feeding issues ). My only gripe with it is that silly little safety. I'm considering removing it.

OP, you won't be sorry that you got it. Mine is one of my favorite pistol caliber long guns. I second chopzurul's recommendation to visit Steve's Gunz for his upgrade kit with the video. My 92 felt completely different after I did the work on it. It feeds almost everything, there were a couple of .38 and .357 SWC loads and some 60's vintage Peters soft RNL loads that it didn't like, everything else is candy to it. Fun and accurate to boot, what's not to like?
I'm retired. That's right, retired. I don't want to hear about the cop who stopped you today or how you didn't think you should get a ticket. That just makes me grumpy!

Big 5 doesn't carry the SS ones, I asked several months ago.

Do the math (10% off sale price vs. 20% off regular price) and see which one ends up being lower. If its on sale but works out to be less that 20% off the regular price, ask them if they'll sell to you for regular price less 20%.

EDIT: I'm kinda wishin' I just went ahead w/the blued one instead of waiting for a SS. At least it would match my blued .357 revolver. If I end up with SS 92, then my OCD will make me buy a matching SS revolver to pair with it
