    Cheek riser?

Any advice on a cheek riser?

Probably won't get it for a little bit and will probably use dense foam or neoprene + electrical or duct tape in the mean time, so if there is going to be a sale I can wait for it.

So far I've seen the following recommended in a quick google search:
    Tactical Operations
    Triad
    Karsten

Should also say that I can still go about 5mm lower on my rings (rifle unavailable during ring purchase) w/o problems, but I think I'd still need a riser after that anyways.

Karsten is a great option if you don't mind drilling your stock.

But by far the best option is the eagle/triad pack. (Triad bought out eagle and their pack)

Check out my youtube link in my sig. I just posted a video or my 700. I have one on my set up now.

I've been using one of these. Firm yet comfortable. No stock modification required.

I have a Karsten on my M1A. Really like it although as already mentioned, you have to be comfortable with drilling holes through your stock.
I'm retired. That's right, retired. I don't want to hear about the cop who stopped you today or how you didn't think you should get a ticket. That just makes me grumpy!

I have a triad and love it. I personally am not a fan of the aftermarket rests the require you to drill the stock-- if it is an expensive stock. If it is a cheapy stock one, no prob there for me.

I have raised a LOT of combs for people with cardboard and masking tape.
It's not pretty, but it's completely functional.
You probably have the materials in your house already...

Tactical Operations Stock Pack is made in the USA with rugged materials and quality craftsmanship. The TacOps pad is built for a solid comfortable no-slip cheek weld and has built in storage. The pouch is ideal for small tools, extra parts, CQB knife and/or first aid. Perfect for the bench or in the field. Outside of the pouch you can hold 8 rounds of ammo and a separate slot for a range card.

This with a little neoprene or foam will work awesome. I have one of these on my 5R and it is a great piece of equipment. Made in USA, and in Hollywood too so double the local support.

I didn't know how much comb I needed, so I bought a neoprene one from bass pro. It has 6-7 foam spacers that can stack up. The beauty of it is it can slip off for adjustment and doesn't leave residue or tape-marks. I think it was $15. Eventually I'll end up drilling the stock with an adjustable klydex one, but the time hasn't come yet.

Stock packs do the trick well and are comfy to shoot on.

                          Cheek riser?

                          karsten.

mine came with a neoprene sheet to be glued down as padding, but instead i picked up a roll of adhesive-backed neoprene weatherstripping -- 2" wide, 0.125" thick. very comfortable; a 35-foot roll was about $30 on amazon, and it will probably be enough for every long gun i'll ever own.
