    Remington 700 Actions

Quick question for you guys, anyone know of websites or suppliers that sell stainless steel Remington 700 actions? I know Brownell's has them but I'm looking for any other websites or dealers to see what some prices are available and who carries them. Thank you.

As I understand it, Remington releases receivers to the market only occasionally, after it has satisfied its requirements for complete rifles.

Some companies make their own receivers with Remington 700 specs, but they are quite expensive.

IMO, price-wise, you're probably better buying a used complete rifle to salvage the receiver rather than buying just a new receiver.

I wanted to get just an action a few months back when I got my 700, gave up and just bought the whole thing, figuring it would shoot better than I would for a good while anyways.

If you are planning on getting a different barrel right away, you can usually get a lightweight barrel model for less money than a heavy barrel rifle.
The actual value of above $.02 is less than $.01 after taxes.

Where do they go on super sale? Turners? Bass Pro? Cabelas? Calguns Marketplace?

Turners, and then you avoid the FFL transfer fee that you get stuck with on out of state purchases. Also many gun shops have consignment or used sections, there is almost always a 700 in the flavor you want sitting there for a fair price.
weg: That device is obsolete now. They replaced it with wizards.
frank: Wait a minute. There are more than one wizard? Is [are?] the wizard calibrated?

Turners has a discontinued list for sale. rem 700adl rifles are on sale for 399.99. there were only a couple left at certain locations. 308 is out of stock, i picked up one of those. its a great price.

i think they had a 300 or 30-06 left somewhere. that is cheaper than buying the action only on brownells right now which is going for 450 i think it is.

go to Turners website. at the top there is a banner for discontinued guns. as of the 13th there were still quite a few in 300 and a couple left in 30-06 and a couple in 223.
