I love my Atlas bipods... i like how I can load them so easily. I personally love the sponginess of the pre-load.

Having said that, i also really like my Harris bipods as well as GG&G.

Harris is the fastest to deploy for sure... but i prefer the feel of the Atlas when shooting prone on concrete or slippery surfaces.

Yes... i realize it's just me being lazy. :P

I own both and use both on a regular basis. The atlas is slow and heavy if weight and speed is your consern go with the harris. I dont have problem with how it preloads but it is different than the harris. I also have never had any trouble with its function when it gets durty i have one on a LMT MWSF that gets treated pritty rough and gets quite durty with sand and desert grit.

My harris is on a strictly target rifle that stays pritty clean its range of motion is limited compared to the atlas. that could be a good or bad thing depending on what type of shooting you are going to be doing it works perfect on my target gun that is already a heavy beast at 22.5 pounds

build quality on both are equal my atlas takes a beating prity regularly but i know for a fact the harris can take one as well, as they are on many of the rifles i shoot at work and nobody beats on gear as bad as the military.

Probably not going to ASR until the Holidays when I have more time--like 21-31 I should have plenty of time w/o work to interfere. I have friends that are pretty regular up there.

The Harris is battle proven. If its good enough for the guys on the two way range it's more than good enough for me.

If the Atlas don't work for you don't even begin to think about the AI.

The Atlas bipod is like an improved version of the AI. The AI is basically a WW2 machinegun bipod.

You ever competed in a run and gun style of match for long range? About 90% of the shooters run Harris.

If you're in any situation where time matters, and you don't have 20 seconds to fart around with your bipod and then more time to get into a shooting position, yeah, an atlas is slow as dirt compared to a harris that just flips down.

If all you're doing is casual shooting at the range, blm land, or something else, it's pretty irrelevant.

I put an Atlas on my 1000 yard bolt gun and gave to my brother for his AR-10 after I used it once. I have a Harris BRS 6-9 on it now and will never look back.

since i shoot at the range on the table and don't have all the time to deploy the bipod , i will be buying more ATLAS until my card starts declining. Also i notice on the HARRIS you get more parts for your money, so better deal.

Other than being less functional as a bipod, they so look great in pictures...

Just a side question on the Harris....

Is a 6-9 going to give me enough height on the table top at ASR to compensate for drop out to the 600yd target?

It will be mounted on a .308 R700 SPS 20in.
