need help removing Harris bipod from my savage

I feel like this is a stupid question but i don't know if I'm doing something wrong and I searched the internet and couldn't find anything.

I have a Harris bipod attached to a front nub on the stock. I'm trying to remove it but it seems stuck. I'm just trying to do the reverse of how I installed it. I'm loosening the lockdown bolt and then I'm trying to pinch the 2 prongs together then pull.

The prongs also don't seem to be able to be squeezed, they seem to be in the squeezed position already.

Is the takedown procedure different? What am I missing here? Thanks

You're on track make sure you roll the bolt back far enough then the plate that rest against the rifle should slide away allow the prongs to open far enough.

Have you tired pulling the base of the bipod away from the stock once you have loosened the screw?

^^That, and you didnt loosen the screw far enough probably.

Sometimes my Rock mount does the same thing, kinda hangs up a bit, just manipulate it back and forth to try to "pop" it lose.

Loosen the mount almost all the way out. Then wiggle it.

Also sometimes mine gets stuck like a sticker to the bottom of the stock due to hot desert days and not movie for a year or so. So wiggle it a little.

I don't see a sperate plate that I can slide off. It all looks like one piece

Rotate it to one side, which should roll one of the pins out of the side.

As a last resort, I would get some needle-nose pliers and give one of the ears a little force.

There we go...just had to give it some extra muscle and not worry about breaking it. Thanks guys for the help
