    Should I??

I have a Winchester Model 94 30-30. It is a Border Patrol Commemorative and I have had it since New. I do not have the box or the poster that came with it. I have never fired this rifle but would really like to.
I had it up for sale for awhile but learned it does not have as much value without the box and poster. I decided to keep it after I learned these rifles our now made in Japan and have a Hammer Block Safety.
Should I go ahead and enjoy it or continue to keep it a virgin??

Yeah I'm not much of a collector, I'd shoot it and enjoy every minute.

I wonder how long you would need to keep it for it to become valuable

shoot it & enjoy it... I am not a fan of safe queens, unless there is some historic significant associated with it, shoot the crap out of it - clean & repeat.

Great rifle! Be a shame for it not to do what it was designed to do.

it's metal and wood. there's nothing intrinsically special about it. it was designed and built to be shot.

They're not liberals, they're leftists. Please don't use the former for the latter. Liberals are Locke, Jefferson, Burke, Hayek. Leftists are progressives, Prussian state-socialists, fascists. Liberals stand against the state and unequivocally support liberty. Leftists support state tyranny.

If you want to keep it pristine you could always get a cheap beater one and shoot the hell out of it

If you shoot it, you will decrease the value of it.
How much you decrease the value is subjective. Winchester made approximately 89 bajillion commemorative rifles of one type or another. Not having the box (part of what makes it a commemorative version) affects the value far more than shooting it will.

In other words, New In Box is worth some amount of money; new not in box is worth rather less. Used but with no real wear or handling marks without box is not worth much less (if at all) than new without box.

If you plan on keeping it then enjoy it and shoot it.
