260 is a 308 case necked to 6.5mm.
You could also call it a 6.5-08.

6.5 creedmore is a different case.
6.5 lapua is a different case again.

So then the 260 as I read it is the leader with 6.5 creedmore close behind. And they are not the same.

I believe most folks can't find a difference between the two in terms of performance... I'm referring to the 260rem and 6.5cm.

I think in the end it comes down to whether you shoot factory ammo or reload.

I am curious as to why Randall chose 260 over the 6.5 though. I'm guessing because he reloads?

Creedmoor brass and dies were not as easily available when I buillt my 260 a few years ago as they are now.
If I were building a rifle TODAY and I did not already have the 260 brass and redding competition dies (Which I do), I would build a 6.5 Creedmoor.

I like the cm because you can have a little more room fow vlds mag length. But 260 6.5cm ehh it's all good ****. 6.5 cm is a killer in a ar10. Check out all the gap10s on snipers hide.

That pretty much sums it up. 6.5cm and 6cm are the IT calibers for now but I'd still shoot my .260

6cm is NOT the same as 6 Creedmoor. Be careful when listing cartridge names, as there are thousands of variations out there.

Thanks for the link OP, looks like some good reading.

I am fascinated by the various loadings in 6mm, 6.5mm, and 7mm… I always had a fascination with the 6XC and the 7mm-08…

Every time I think I have it narrowed down I find some other wildcat or variation that interests me.
